central locking
If you have the SCU type fobs ( oval) you can have a situation where even with the roof off you cant unlock the passenger side door -it has happened to me .
Assess the situation first before moving towards replacing door locks.
Also do not double lock the doors until you are sure what type of dead locking system you have -(Lucas or SCU)

What the above posters are saying is it could be caused by several issues.
If it is only one lock the fault could be in that lock.
If it is both locks it probably isn't the lock.
Lucas systems work differently to Pektron systems - which do you have?

Doesn't matter if the roof is down, the deadlocks may get stuck on and then the only way to open the door will be to rip your door card off as the door will be stuck closed.
All it takes to change them is to take the door card off, unscrew the three bolts that hold it in the end of the door, undo the wires, and the fiddly metal bar that comes from the door handle. (see guides posted already) mines a 2003 like yours, and took 30 mins to do max.

The door locks on MGF Mk2 and onward to all TF's is the same part number ( not early MGF MK1- different type of cable )

Call Darren at MGFnTFbitz, tell him you need a replacement door lock mechanism and explain the problem, they usually post out very fast. Its a common problem so he will be able to sort out a good working and cheap spare.graham1 wrote: thanks, Mike but do they have a parts number as I cannot find one thank you, Graham
May be worth getting a few spare door card clips in with the package too, as you always bust a couple when removing the door cards.
While the cards are off, treat your electric window sliders with some new grease too!
Sorted!

The wavelength of 433MHz is approximately 70 centimeters, the standard loose wire antenna is a 1/4 wavelength or 17.5 centimetres.
Add 17.5cm to create a 1/2 wavelength antenna or 52.5cm to create a full wavelength antenna, don't allow the free end to touch anything metallic.
I think that the wire is behind the passenger footwell light, and it is yellow.
