Hello Have been looking to change my wiper motor on my 2002 Mgtf and have seen the thread about the freelander motor being used as a alternative and then seeing that it's wired different, but is this just the Mgf that it doesn't work on or doesn't it work with the Mgtf either? could anyone clarify please. thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

It is quite easy to swap wiring plugs.

Hi James
Thanks for the welcome and reply.
But according to David Aiketgate the wiring is different on the freelander wiper motor, the earth and the live on the motor circuit board is different,so i understand.
many thanks

Or if it's just the bearing then a replacement is available...but you say yours isn't the bearing...looks like the new motor is the way to
go🤔 😂

If you are going to be replacing the wiper assembly, especially for a used item, while the unit is off the car, I would be fitting the Mike Satur upgraded linkage. I did fit one of these to my first TF and wish I had taken it off when I swapped it for my current 160.
Since my car now rarely drives in the rain, I am hoping the linkage on - and the motor will last.
