Does anyone know
1, How much oil to add to the air conditioning compressor
2, What is the specification of the oil for the compressor ?

I did a full rebuild and the turned the compressor upside down to drain the old oil figuring after 23 years it would need changing.

The Nissens/Denso 89232 compressor was fitted to Freelander 1, Rover 75, MGZR, MGZT and MGZS, it takes 160ml of PAG46 oil other makes may vary. The MGF may use a different compressor.
EDIT
I should have said that it was fitted to the MGTF

I always look on eBay for info like that, in this case search for “ MGF air con compressor” then look at new ones and normally the whole spec is in front of you. It includes cc’s per rev, pulley diameter and number of grooves on the pulley.
When I search for info via eBay certain brands give very detailed information, Febi, Febi Bilstein and Blueprint (all the same company) and Nissens are about the best though.

The amount and type of oil is specified on the Workshop manual. The amount is also stated on the yellow A/C label next to the bonnet latch.
