Morecambe Newbie Update
obviously she failed the MOT but only on tie bar bushes and one track rod end. Happy days.
Tje mechanic, who I know well, said "it's not a hard job, why don't you give it a go yourself" he's clearly a bastard!
Got my parts and jacked up the car with lots of enthusiasm and motivation. That was at 9am. By 12 noon i was on the phone to MGFNFTBITZ ordered new tie rods so I could cut these ones off.
New rods ordered. 50% of the job done so far. Fingers crossed for tomorrows task.
this old girl is way more rotten than I was led to believe

While you are under there I would suggest changing the disc's, pads and probably putting through some fresh brake fluid. It all helps, isn't too expensive a job and I'm sure that the tester will notice when you go back for the re test. 😉

Same with the discs, that'll be the next job on the list, but I'm taking baby steps. Plus I only have a few days before the free MOT retest.

The cover referred to is that fibrous coagulated excrescence just over where your axle stand is. They absorb water & rot what is behind. The plastic offering is far superior & uses the same mounting points.

Well chuffed.
Fully legal and ready to rock. It's beautiful sunshine in Morecambe (As it always is) so I've been blasting around with the roof down. Even convinced the wife to come for a drive. Needless to say after a 70mph blast her hair was some what dishevelled. It's was very funny.
funny.now to start planning the next MG jobs
