Front springs ~ who made the originals

For reasons unknown the front of the car is lower than it should be by at least 15mm probably more like 18mm. The springs are painted yellow (all over not just a band) and the shock absorber is standard not sportpak1. This suggests that the spring is either very short or very soft.
I am seeking to return the ride height to standard and am trying to find a pair of original springs for a 2002/2003 car and not the softpack.
Looking on autodoc there is a bewildering list of potential suppliers (at least 7) and I can't find anyone with "new old stock".
Can anyone tell me who made the original springs please or where I might obtain a pair of used springs that are not "worn out"?
I have searched all the usual market places.

If you can’t find the original springs the there are a few suppliers of “coil over” springs. From memory Faulkner are the big manufacturer and supplies them in 1.9, 2.0, 2.25 and 2.5 inch ID. If you can find out the correct spring rates and length then they are available from the likes of Demon Tweeks and Larkspeed. I have a pair for the back of my MGB from eBay, they were about £38 including postage.
