No need to be sorry about the lady in the picture, I'd prefer to look at her than the car, now that is something you could apologise for!

A35...with black paint thick enough you had to drill through it to get to the metal underneath...

Amazing how many bodies would fit in it on a pub crawl...in the days when drinking and driving was acceptable, of course!

I'll bet that turned a few heads back in the day. :broon:

Look at the rear blinds and front sun shade cover on Davems car above. I'll bet you were glad when they invented aircon Dave. :)

Some of us here in Oz still have sun shades and venetian blinds on our cars today even with air con. The sun shade helps keep the glare of the sun outta you eyes and the venetian blinds stops your rear passengers getting sunburn on the back of their neck, ears and head (if they're bald)
Here's my Ford Fairlane. It has both fitted and of course a roobar!
I use it as a workbus, Christmascar (every day is Chistmas so you can do whatever you bloody well want to in it!) and towcar (it's rated to tow 2.4 tonnes) It actually tows better than the F100

A brand new MGF :omg:
Leigh that car had quarter light/vents to direct air onto you as you sped along. It was very basic and you were lucky to even have a radio. But it had a big back seat :yesnod:

My first 'car' was a Ford Thames van 1963, £10 cash.
modified with a Ford Prefect grill and I painted it with Valspar enamel,
two tone blue and beige then it rained, towed a boat with it too.

I haven’t lost my marbles they are in a bag somewhere

Triumph Herald 1200 which I learned an enormous amount about motor engineering on. Brilliant to work on especially at the front but gradually rusted apart around me.

Second car was great fun, a 1961 Austin Healey Sprite with sliding side screens. Leaked like a sieve, poor performance even by 1970's standards but with the roof off (which was most of the time) was absolutely brilliant.

Hankered after another open top car for 40 years until I bought my F last year. Now I remember how much fun they are!
