Lovely car to drive, it puts my previous motor to shame.
You can see my TF in the background waiting for it's brain transplant (waiting to be k mapped).
Two black cars in one household = lots of washing.
Steve.

The first is how we marry off our children, the second is trying to heal the 101s rear wiring.

A 2015 Dacia Duster 4x4. Part Renault, part Nissan and built in Renault's Romanian factory for a fraction of the price of other Renaults. The French don't care about badges - reliability, practicality and value are their main concerns as witnessed by the vast number of Dusters on French roads. We agree - three years down the road and the latest version is its likely successor.
A 2004 Suzuki Vitara soft-top. Bought new over 13 years ago, brought over to and re-registered in France ten years ago and the survivor of numerous attempts to rationalise the fleet. It's one of those cars that's always 'there'. It jump-starts the ones with flat batteries, tows the breakdowns home, stands in for those being serviced or fixed, gets lent to temporarily car-less friends and drags trailers full of logs across our field. Despite a few minor scars it's still in excellent condition with relatively low mileage and we can't think of any reason to ever get rid of it.
And of course the TF... the complete hard-riding, high-revving antidote to all kinds of sensible cars. A very low-mileage, one previous owner car bought from a friend's family and now a dry-day-only car cosseted in a dry barn in a warm, dry climate. Another 'keeper'!
What's that black canvas thing behind the seats for?

Volvo mileage greatly in excess of TF mileage.....go figure.....:tada:
Regular readers may recall that I previously owned a 2.5 SE Jaaaaag auto petrol. 23 to the gallon on a good day, compared to 55 - 60 genuine in the Volvurrr. Probably, if I decide not to retire (getting more and more tempting...) I'm having a new XC 90 in September. With electrical recharge option, which our Swedish friends are pledged to, apparently. Always wanted to be a Yummy Mummy.... OK, yah, Mirandaaahh.
Will come in handy as we plan to holiday touring Britain and Europe next year: will be handy to doss in if no hotels available.
It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

I thought that I would contribute by showing my other car!!
I finished work at 61 years old about 3 years ago, giving up my very nice company cars, (Beemers), years of commuting sometimes 200 Miles a day and staying in hotel rooms for nights on end, made up my mind for me.
I intended to buy myself a Benz, but then thought that I would wait a year and just use the F, as and when required. I used it for a couple of trips around Spain and realised that I didn’t need a second car to crystallise its value on the drive. Tram service and local bus service is sufficient, and then, my bus pass will be here before I know it. I am going to keep the F for a while longer and invest in a new car in another year or so, and cry over the depreciation it will attract.
The F stays in the garage, coming out on sunny days.
I have a job to do this weekend, a trip out to the petrol station!! It is the first fill up since October 5th last year at Tewkesbury on my way back from Spain upto Nottingham. How’s that guys?
Cheers
David
