Alarm activation

The alarm on my MGF Trophy keeps activating. I've checked the wiring on the boot hinge and it looks good. The alarm will sound if I lock the car with the fob or with the key. Is there any way of downloading details of what element of the alarm has caused the activation?

I have noticed that the indicators don't flash when the alarm sounds. I don't know if this is linked.
