Actuating outputs question

Actuating outputs question was created by adamelphick

Both my TF and my ZS are Pektron cars. I popped some fog lights on the ZS and popped the switch in place but they do nothing. I assume they need the ECU to be told they are there?
I couldn't find how to set the outputs last time I fitted up the Pscan unit.... Any help will be appreciated.

The fog lights do need switching on in the Pektron, no idea how though.

Thought so - the Pscan features list for the Pektron ECU says:

Features available:

Read EKA
Write EKA
Read VIN and other information
Actuate outputs
Immobiliser fob programming

So I assume there's a way to do it......

Maybe the relay isn't in the fuse box?

I might be missing the point here but I thought Pscan alowed you to test the relays and the items they operate. Earlier in the year I had Pektron / fob issues and used the Pscan to operate the various systems . A previous owner of my TF fitted fog lights to the car and I know he didn't have a Pscan so I naturally thought if the car had all the items fitted , the lights would work .

Well that's what I was hoping... But I think it was basically a lottery what was switched on by the time the Pektrons arrived. Pretty sure for example that you need to switch on the boot release if you want to use a 3 button fob on a 2 button fob Pektron car.

The TF only came with 2 button Pektrons, the boot release was only available on ZS and ZR.

Yep. Although when I contacted Technozen about the need to swap my TF to Facelift ZR type switching (push on/push off rather than latched switches) for my dash project he said that is possible on the TF along with various options... They just weren't enabled by MG.... So maybe the Pektron units are all the same?

All of the Pektron development was done on Rob Bell's ZR, which I don't currently have access to.

I do have a Pektron in the lab but I haven't yet powered it up and tried to connect the T4 to it.

This could take a little time I'm afraid.

Activating output refers to clicking relay on an off, not reconfiguring the Pektron.
