What does "Oxygen sensor status not okay" mean? The sensor is brand new and the engine is running extremely rich. Sensor voltage is static. No fault codes present.

The VVC uses MEMS 2J, the 1.8i is MEMS 1.9

Jonaf - what brand of sensor did you use?
Was it universal or did it have the correct plug.
What are the readings for the probe heater circuit?

The sensor i OE MG Rover. Regarding the reading for the probe heater circuit I do not know where to find this. Maybe this is the "Oxygen sensor not okay"?

Mine is a VVC so MEMS 2.0 so slightly different but I'm sure the heater circuit had it's own listing.

Hi all,

I’m new here, and was just trying the Pscan after replacing the O2 sensor for a new one I got from Rimmer Bros for my 98 1.8i MGf with the ECU MEMS 1.9.

After failing the Mot on the gas emissions control, I checked and there were no fault codes but had the the exact same reading with de voltage fixed at 0,44V and the message “Oxygen sensor not Ok” so I decided to replace it.

Unfortunately the reading remains the same, :(

Did any one of you guys got any clue on why this is happening and how to solve this issue?

Cheers

:welcome2:
Sometimes the wiring is damaged by heat from the exhaust. You need to check the wiring and the plug.
