Afternoon Guys & Gals
I was wondering whether someone out there could give me some advice.

I apologise if this topic has already been covered.

I own a 2001 MGF Trophy 160 SE which came with one 17TN remote. I have decided I need a second, In case the first remote dies on me. My question to the forum is can a 3TXB remote be programmed to my system or does it have to be a 17TN type. I purchased what was advertised on ebay as a brand new 17TN remote, however, when it arrived it is a 3TXB remote and not the 17TN type. So, can this 3TXB remote be programed and work along side my old 17TN remote?

Thank you in anticipation.

If you are reading fob type from the plastic case, then do not do that. You need to open the case and look what is written on the PCB.
Fobs 3TXB, 3TXC, 3TXD and 17TN are of the same type and can be mixed without any problems. Only difference is 3TXA.
