Does PSCAN autobleed the ABS module on MEMS 1,9 - Bosch 5.0 ?

Hello from New Zealand!

I have a 1997 MGF with sinking brake pedal.
Grrrrrr
It isn't the master cylinder and no fluid loss.
Folks here are not really up on these cars after 25 years.
Old guru's have retired.
Some diagnostic machines about here and there in the back of inherited workshops.
Nobody particularly interested and think it's just a standard bleed inspite of the info about this closed ABS needing a power bleed.
Have read in several places about auto bleed of the ABS and keen to get the definitive answer to the question:

Does PSCAN auto bleed the ABS module on MEMS 1,9 - Bosch 5.0 ?

Thanks for all answers in advance!

Cheers

It doesn't. No one has asked for that before.

How can you be certain that the master cylinder isn't at fault ?? If you make enough short brake pipes with nuts and flatten the pipes to bung up the outlets of the cylinder and then test it . You might be surprised at the result .

Hi from Chch. One un-retired Guru is Lawrie Steere of the MG Service Centre at Mandeville. If your problem's not fixed, he's on 03-365-0351.
Good luck, David

The car is fixed!
What was the culprit?

It was the ABS pump unit.
Very old and water contaminated brake fluid causing stuck valve?
Probably.
Rusty watery fluid found at right rear caliper piston earlier on.
I installed a second hand ABS unit and opened the bleed valve at the right front wheel under the unit.
Gravity style.

Based on this
https://blackbox-solutions.com/help/SM081.html

I went to pull the car out of the garage to bleed the brakes and the pedal was 100%.
Did complete a brake bleed anyway.

Pedal is so good now I went out for a test drive and found myself practicing 'heel toe' technique.

Stoked.

Thanks to all who replied :)

Hi and welcome to the forum

Did you use the blackbox unit to bled the ABS pump or just use the information?

Hi James,

I Just used the information where it related to bleeding the wheel under the ABS pump, as a pre-bleed step, to fill the pump by gravity.
Also the wheel bleed sequence was confirmed in this info.
The unit I installed arrived drained of course.
I opened the bleed valve at the wheel for a good minute or so as fluid ran out.
Was careful to keep as much fluid in the lines as possible from the master cylinder while fitting the ABS pump
The brakes basically were amazing after that.
It was like some Elves had magically fixed the sinking brake pedal lol
But I did bleed each wheel just to make sure.

Regards

Chris
