Software version 043C
I am starting to roll out version 043C.
I'll reply later on with the new features.
One important thing to note is that these features require a new firmware in the interface.
Therefore, the first time that you run 043C with the pscan interface attached it will push a firmware update to your pscan.
Please allow it to complete the update without begin disturbed.
If you are using two computers with pscan, then both will need to be upgraded because once the firmware is upgraded 043B and older will no longer work.
Details of previous version 043B are here .

The new features are:-
CANbus support for more modern vehicles.
Unfortunately this is not going to work with the 1 metre long cable shipped with pscan upto serial number 1600. From 1600 we started shipping a 30cm cable which is more CANbus friendly.
MEMS diesel as fitted to Rover 200/400. Note that this is different to the 600 which used EDC 1.3.1
TRW MPS Type 1 airbag ECU as fitted to 1995 only P38 Range Rover and some Discovery 1. In order to connect to the these ECUs an adapter box will be needed. More details to follow.

Is there 30cm serial cable we can buy ourselves for us who have 1m serial cable? Are there any specifics for that cable?

Hello! Still can't connect PScan to my laptop. I've uninstalled, updated the FTDI driver, got the latest version, tried different USB cables, etc. etc. Could the problem be the 1m cable I've got please? I get the initial screen (with the languages) but it doesn't recognise any ports to choose. The green light on the box is flashing. I've tried it with the box plugged in, ignition on, engine on... you name it! Please could someone tell me what I'm doing wrong. Thank you!

If it doesn't recognise any port then this is a problem with the FTDI driver.
Firstly, reboot the laptop as this sometimes sorts out the drivers.
I'm presuming that you are running Windows, which version (XP, 7, 10 or 11 etc) and is it 32 bit or 64 bit?

Thank you for replying so quickly. I'm on Windows 11 64-bit. Fully updated.

I also downloaded the FTDI drivers from here: https://pscan.uk/install/windows.html. I ran the installer and got the dialog box to tell me they were successfully installed. I've even tried looking in the Registry to see if there's a conflict there but can't find Pscan in it.

For Windows 11 you can use the latest driver straight from FTDI.
you can get it from here https://ftdichip.com/drivers/d2xx-drivers/

Thanks. I tried that, cleared all caches, etc... Reinstalled but still not able to pick up a port. Then my knees started to hurt and I got cold so called it a night. The FDTI driver shows a number of 03.02.16 - don't know if that's a date or a version release number but it might give a clue. It's frustrating because this has all worked really well in the past. I'm thinking of digging out an old laptop and trying it on that instead. Thanks for your help. I'll keep trying...
