My lad moved about twelve months ago & I was faced with his returning tools which he swore blind he didn’t have & didn’t know I owned & when did I take the stuff to his house without him knowing & hide them all over the place & he’s bought his own now so I can have them back (mostly blunt).
In the meantime I have bought replacements & now I have nowhere to keep them.
He appropriated an expensive rotary wire brush which would have been useful several days after it went to his house, same with the power washer, my daughter had that & it was short of a nozzle when it eventually arrived back.

Trev, that sounds so familiar. My tools can be found all over my sons garage!

I'm not all that sure whether there's a little bit of self congratulation with these thoughts, "haven't we done well passing our interests & skills down to the next generation & it's to be hoped our grandchildren will be as skilled with the plane & the lathe as grandad". I know that when Edward turns up to help with a job he's going to adopt the same techniques as my dad tought me & I past to him.
And I know I had some of dads tools in my box long before they were bequeathed..
