I also bought one of these last year when they were a tenner - and would happily have paid the £25 for it. I much prefer them over the earlier heater plate as I also like the glowing knobs

MY05 knobs are great (if a little fragile on the stalks as I already had to fix one!). I sunk Megs in to a modified Rover 200/400 heater control box so they sit flush with the surface:

They both do essentially the same except a supercharger is directly driven by a belt from the engine and a turbocharger is driven by the exhaust gasses.
A turbo is "spun" by the escaping exhast gasses and sometimes needs to spin up to speed. This can lead to a power surge and turbo lag. Also Turbos tend to run very hot and can glow red in some circumstances.
A supercharger is there from lower revs and gives a more even spread of torque without the surge. The downside of a supercharger is it actually uses some of the power the engine produces.

mmmmmmm... not €,just a 'in the pub idea' would depend on ease of fitting cost and gains more research needed
