Private plate for sale
Morning all.
I inherited my Dad's MGF, lovely little car and one of the first 100 off the production line. Unfortunately I just don't have the time, money or ability to get her roadworthy so I am making the sad decision to move her on.
I don't expect to get very much for the car and am likely to just list it on eBay.
However it does have a private plate N567MGF which I am looking to sell privately. Currently registered to the car but I will get it put on a certificate if it's worth it.
I have looked online and prices seem to range all over the place.
Could someone point me in the right direction for pricing, or if it's of interest let me know and make me a sensible offer.
Many thanks
Matt

Go to DVLA registrations and search under MGF, you might be surprised at the prices!

Here she is. Looking a bit sorry for herself.
I live in Stilton near Peterborough. Would welcome offers if anyone would like to save it.

Looks quite tidy on the surface.
You say it was in the family so any info you can give on it can drastically make a difference to the cars worth.
Does it have an Mot? Guessing not but if it failed what was noted, or has the Mot just ran out and lapsed.
Do you know if it has had a cambelt change or head gasket needed? Mileage etc.
Subframes sound or rotted?
This kind of info helps us to decide if it's worth buying and saving and also to advise on price.
Just let us know what you can.

Thanks for the reply. I think the last time it had an MOT was 2019. My dad used it all the time up until then. It's just sat and not done anything since.
It's one of the earliest MGFs 87th off the production line.
I have a box of receipts including a head gasket alternator and thermostat change at 89k miles.
The underneath looks like it has been coated. Looks in good condition. Rusted tow ring and hangers for the exhaust.
The exhaust is stainless steel and looks in very good condition.
The pictures are doing it justice, the paintwork isn't in great condition.
I have the v5 in my name, happy to include the private plate that is registered to the car. I have brand new plates ready to go it as well.
There are some spare parts in the boot as well, new side mirror, door handles etc.
The fuel has been in it for years and the battery is flat so I don't want to risk trying to fire it up.
Happy to talk it through with anyone. 077590075245.
Cheers for looking and the help.

Value wise I really don't have a clue. It needs a lot of work, but it is a very early one which has been verified by the mgf register. If interested make me an offer I won't be offended.
Would love it to go to someone that wants to get it back up and running

You will struggle to get the private plate on retention because of the length of time that the car has been sorn.
If you were closer I would be happy to help you get back on the road so that you could enjoy it.
I hope that it's purchased by a enthusiast and not by someone that will break it for parts.

Its sad that you are not trying to get it back on the road yourself.
I was nearer to you I would propose a joint project as I did with the owner of another Mk1 F I did last year which I bought for a peppercorn amount tied to an agreement I would sell it back to her once it was roadworthy, for a reasonable figure.
