As far as generic how-to's, I can see them anywhere on the net. I come to MG forums for specific MG information not generic car repair.
I understand that ex-MGF Mark doesn't want to cut his ties to MG, but maybe the Astra forums would appreciate his input. No offence meant.

, any help that is technicaly correct is better than none

Sorry mate-not true. As I said generic info can be found anywhere. Technically correct info that does not apply to the vehicle in question can lead to dangerous errors, particularly with people who don't know what they are doing...particularly with brakes.
You have been treated very patiently here. Just imagine how Astra pics would go over on SELOC....or.org for that matter.

And I am a qualified Airframe Technician, Locksmith, and Heavy Machine Gunner. None of which qualify me to speak on auto maintenance either. However I did spend 7 years restoring and maintaining MGs professionally .I do endeavour to post accurate information about the cars this forum pertains to.

I am not a licensed mechanic nor do I play one on TV, and I am not interested in a pissing match with an unarmed opponent.
Frankly I don't care if you have a degree in Rocket Science. That and a dollar will buy you a cup of coffee
I merely stated my personal opinion that Vauxhall Astras are inappropriate for an MG forum.
It is up to the mods and owner to make the rules so that is out of my hands, innit?

Ok. I've pressed the 'let's agree to disagree' button, which I just invented. So end of....

And I say that as an Analytical Chemist, Scuba Diving Instructor...and Administrator of an MG forum. ;)

Ladies and Gentlemen, all those qualities and qualifications are admirable to a non mechanised geek like me. But, I only came to the 'Darkside' via MG related pics and guides. Anything else would have blown my unqualified braincells. Having to convert one car to another would have been just too confusing.

We do have a 'Owners other cars' bit in the how to guides section. I think that's as good as it needs to get Mark. :)

Feel free to show how to guides relating to any other car there if you must. But, the main guides must be MG related. It's the bread and butter here. But as always, everybodies wealth of experience is always appreciated. :broon:

PS. Awesome army pics.
