Posted 11 years 8 months ago #108401And forget those fancy new fangled alloy wheel things - you should be looking for some steel wheels with tires the same width as a BMX bike, with rusty chrome hubcaps that make great trays for your wheel nuts.

Posted 11 years 8 months ago #108410John and Sue wrote: With all the talk of modding on the forum, and my well documented 'nice work but not for me thanks' standpoint, I have started planning my Retro F Build.
Replace K Series with side valve Morris Minor engine. Remove synchro from first gear, blank off fifth gear.
Retrograde skinny 12" rims with remould crossply tyres. One bald. One with a sidewall bulge.
Replace leather seats with sticky vinyl Austin A35 fitments. Suspiciously stained.
Remove rev counter, oil and temp gauges etc. replace with just a big speedo and 2 warning lamps, one with a blown bulb.
Rubber mats.
Sliding windows.
Respray with Artificial Limb shade of Pinky-Beige with orange peel finish.
Underseal painted halfway up the doors to hide rotting sills and door bottoms.
Watch out Diesel Destroyer!
Wheels are sorted. Just need to brush paint over the rust with silver Boiler Paint. :broon:
It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..
