Deep diver, by your username do you scuba? Decades ago when we lived in Cheshire the Blue Pool which is about 1/2 a mile beyond the Ponderosa Cafe on the Llangollen Pass was one of our winter training grounds along with Dorothea quarry; both old slate mines where our diving club (Warrington Sub Aqua) would take trainees over the winter months when it was too rough to go diving in the sea (normally Anglesey or the Llyn Peninsula) been diving in either? also used to be a nice pint in the Britannia Inn on the way up to the Ponderosa.

We would like to come for old times sake but now living in Falmouth is just a tad too far, enjoy the trip if you are going; also done some great walks in that area.

I started back in 1973 made it all the way up to Dive Leader, but called it a day some time back due to MBI being to high, also in my ave you can just see a Submarine that is just one of the type of model boat that I now do, along with doing the events for the Ducati Owners Club G.B.

I'll have to check with the boss (Paula) but with the 13th the day after the Blackpool Charity run she might complain if we have TWO car events on the whole weekend...

6th could be better for us. ;)

If it is the Sunday 6th October, is it ok if I come along in my old MGB GT? I don't have the TF anymore but if MG don't get their finger out and deliver our new car I might just go and take the TF back from the dealer anyway.

Is it ok to mention this run on the WCMGOC Facebook page and email them and the local F Register lot to see if they want to come along?

It's looking like it is going to be the 6th unless a majority rule otherwise, I for one would love to see an MGB en route!!

Woah, you edited didn't you! I'm confused now!

Sorry for the confusion! After my initial reply I suddenly realised the thread went to the next page and John had changed it to the 6th!

If John's ok with a few more "other" MGs joining in then that would be great. Last year in April on the Drive It day we had a good run out to North Wales which John will recall, and the route we used was provided by the local MGF Register area rep, and took us through some really scenic back roads coming out to the Café via the little back road behind the buildings.

The only concern I've seen around posting the meet amongst multiple forums is overrunning the car park with MGs. My experience of that stop is that it is ALWAYS overrun by bikers. I think an invasion of MGs will make a fun change! :D bring it on!

I did see something from John in the Shoutbox afterwards about keeping it small. You're right, the place is usually overrun with bikers whenever I go up, which is quite regularly, but there's heaps of parking both sides of the café and across the road. The little shop is great, too, by the way!
