Replacement door mirror

Replacement door mirror was created by Philhilex

Hi all. I'm looking to source a replacement left hand door mirror in green for my 2001 MG-F .

The plastic retainer that holds the spring in place is broken, also the whole mirror assembly is loose when fitted to car. I've tried Rimmer bros and mgfntfbitz but neither has any in stock. I'll take manual or electric and black as well as green. It's a LHD car but don't think this makes any difference??
Thanks for any suggestions or offers.

I think LHD and RHD mirrors are different, but let’s wait for more informed answers 😊

The mirrors are handed. If your cover / shell is in good condition, buy the appropriate one & transpose those parts required to make a good unit.

I still have a pair of manual mirrors for sale cheaply if of any use; see the For Sale section here.

They are matte black. They will bolt on in the same way as the electric mirrors but their only electrical connection is their defrost function. If you want to move them you have to wind down the window and adjust the position of the mirror head.  The whole head moves unlike the electric mirrors where the head stays still and just the glass moves.  They look similar despite the difference in the way they are constructed. A green aerosol would make them blend in.

Less to go wrong.

Did I mention they were cheap. A few cans of beer would be nice.

The manual mirrors are a pain in the arse! As mentioned the whole head moves on the manual mirrors as opposed to the head being fixed and the mirror glass itself doing all the adjusting with  the powered mirrors.
What happens is every idiot pedestrian bumps you mirror out of adjustment as they stray past, all too intent on looking at their damned phones to bother to look where they're going which results in your passenger side mirror never pointing where you need it too!

The manual and electric mirrors are totally different, you can't easily fit manual to a car that had electric ones.
The outer casings are the same on lhd and rhd, it's the movement of the mirror angle that is different
