Best radio upgrade for an MGTF was created by Mikee

I have a clunky Kenwood radio (KDC-XBT8013U) in my TF and am looking to upgrade.
What is a good recommendation?

AI suggested a Kenwood KMM-BT506DAB (zero clutter, easy controls and best balance for a classic MG).
I was also thinking of a Pioneer AVH-Z7200DAB (expensive). Fits in a single DIN chassis of the TF but screen pops out to double size and allows full Apple CarPlay interface. Allows all the good stuff like Google Maps, Apple Music, etc besides AM, FM, DAB radio and looks like standard radio when not On. Also solves problem of finding a good phone mount.

I have the Kenwood KMM-BT508DAB and have been really happy with it, good features and great sound quality, even with the standard car speakers. Not sure of the difference with the 506 you mentioned though.

The Kenwood KMM-BT508DAB is a slightly newer model. BT506 is a bit cheaper.

  Pioneer MVH-S320BT
I replaced my CD player because the discs jumped with the suspension.
This is the only other replacement I have tried, it can take usb sticks, I use Spotify mostly.
The phone works well on it and the sound is good, the front is one button detachable to put off the scroats.

For what its worth, i'm using a generic Single Din chinesium android auto / carplay head unit. Cost less than £50 and has wireless AA/CarPlay and has not skipped a beat since. Works well with googlemaps / Waze for navigation and it just does what it says on the tin.

Sound quality is better than the OEM headunit that was in the car too.

@Figo
Where did you get your phone holder?
There was a company selling ones made for the TF but sadly are no longer available.
I have a generic one for the vents but its crap!

Has anyone installed one of these, Pioneer AVH-Z7250BT? They look like the ultimate!

Can on the car from previous owner, never use it though as the head unit has wireless AA and the phone holder rests and scuffs the centre console.

If the past owner already did a radio swap put (some Sony), do I need to be cautious of any codes when swapping into a new one?

I saw a thread a while back that when changing the battery you need to be careful to not get locked out. When I got the car, no such codes came with it. Does this mean it's basiclally permenantly unlocked?

With the Pioneer AVH-Z7250BT the screen can be positioned forwards and backwards as well as the adjusting the screen angle so should not interfere with any dash protrusions. These screen settings are stored in the memory so go to that position each time screen is displayed.
