She had a little cough this morning on start up, I checked the volts and the battery reads 11v with the engine off,
12.5v at idle.
I thought I may change it for a new one, or does that sound ok voltage wise?
Apart from possibly needing the code for the radio, am I likely to lose anything when disconnecting?
It occurred to me I could fit the battery charger to the terminals on disconnection, maintaining power ?
Any thoughts please?

Hi, I just tend to change a battery over when one is needed. Had nothing affected other than remembering to recode the/a radio if fitted. In fact I'm awaiting delivery of a new one for my F.

Thanks for that, I suppose my question is, given the volts should I leave well alone, or is she due a change?

11v is a bit low. If the engine revs were increased a little the 12.5v would probably increase a little too so it looks like it would be charging from the alternator.
I changed my battery earlier this year and it was straight forward. I have no radio code but the ECU and alarm were not effected.
I am far too embarassed to say why I had to fit a new battery...but money talks.

If you have Lucas 5AS fobs you will need to re-sync both fobs with 5AS box by pressing 4-5 times unlock button. She had a little cough this morning on start up, I checked the volts and the battery reads 11v with the engine off,
