Is this normal?
As per the photo. This was the fuel gauge after standing overnight. I put £25 in and it went up to about 3/8 on the gauge.
If it is it's only taken me 3 years to notice.
If not, a new sender perhaps?
Cheers,
M.

Normal service resumes when the ignition is turned on.

My gauge is steady with the ignition on or off, I find it interesting that a potential tea leaf can check out how far he may get before deciding on my car.
I don't think its normal, but like Cobber, if it read correctly on start up I would also leave well alone.
To paraphrase, if it aint really really badly broke, dont fix it is my motto.

Cobber, in answer to your question, yup ignition was off.

But I did notice that on my car the gauge would not show the true amount of fuel that was in the tank when the ignition was off.
It would only show the true amount of fuel when the ignition was on.
