Whilst out on the Goats run, one person mentioned that he had fitted a set of these new mk2 dials, but didn't like them and so had removed them again.
Hmmm, were they for sale?...................................

Anyhoo, the postman bought this today.

And inside:-

Busy day tomorrow!
Look out for the How to.:yesnod:

Interesting to see that the redline is over the 7K mark rather than 6,750 so must be a VVC version

it's an optical delusion, Jon.
The redline is at 6750.
Interestingly the kit comes with another rev counter suitable for the Steptronic with a redline just over 6000.

Can't wait for the 'how to'

Does anyone know if the heater dials will fit a Mk 1 heater or, alternativelty, can I fit a Mk 2 heater into a Mk 1 console or cannibalise a Mk 2 to allow the plasma dials to fit a Mk 1.

I'm not going down the Mk 2 console route because I wanted carbon fibre and that was only available for Mk 1, as far as I know.

The dials are not part of the heater, they are connected by cables.

I meant the control unit in the console, not the heater itself (sorry badly written post).

They state on their site the dials are for Mk 2 but I want to know if there is any way I can make them work on a Mk 1 centre console. I'm not very clear on the differences in the control units apart from the fact that the knobs are not interchangable between them.

Basically - I have a Mk 1 console and I want those heater dials can it be done?

Don't see why not, the plasma dials just fit on the outside of the heater box, so you just need to pull off the knobs slip them on and replace the knobs. And wire them up, obviously.
The main difference in mk1- mk2 is the length of the knob shafts, i believe.

Just sent another email to VP about a discount based on 14 dials (7 of each) and also asking about Mk1 new design... fingers crossed they will come back a bit quicker this time.

Had a reply!

The F Mk1 dials are ready now see below:

If we buy 7 of each as the poll suggests I got these prices from them:

For orders with discount per set:
MGF MK1 = £41.50 each x 7 sets = £290.50
MGTF MK2 = £41.50 each x 7 sets = £290.50

:)
