Yes, unfortunately the original British manufacturer turned out to be less than efficient. (Other words may have been used originally:shrug:) They, basically, messed around, and wasted a lot of time.
The project has now been given to a foreign company and they have designed and built rear callipers from scratch.They bought an MGF to fit them to, and have done a lot of testing and refining and are now producing the finished article. The front callipers are company stock items as are the discs.
The new rear calliper will fit to the oem handbrake cables, meaning easier fitting.
The first company's original rear calliper failed under test conditions, and their revised rear calliper would have needed new longer handbrake cables being fitted!)
Now you really do know as much as me,
