I think that should be enough length.Ned wrote: The induction hose on the Viper I have is about 70cm - is this long enough to get to the intake or do I need the full metre?

What about fixing to the nearside air intake?

It looks to me like they are meant to attach to the vent mounting screws.

I'm sure I can cobble something together to make that attachment

It was only fitting a 52mm throttle body but you gotta start somewhere
This also had to be done before the Viper went on, hence posting on this thread.
Anway it took us a bit longer than expexted - that bolt inder the sensor is a real s*d to undo
I did the 'press accelerator five times in position 2' thing and it appears to be idling correctly.
Will take it out for a spin tomorrow and see how it feels

Had the Mk 1 just over 6 months and have already put lots of alloy bits inside (mainly MikeSatur) put on leather steering wheel and 'badged' airbag and fitted rear speaker pod, T-bar and wind deflector. Carbon fibre air vents ready to go on and I will put in new leather interior once I finally sort out the window leaks
Fitted trophy wheels, stripped fuelcap ring, lexus rear lights and clear indicator kit to the exterior and I have flag badges for wings ready to go on. I will then 'trophy' the front lights and fit a splitter.
Nearly finished refurbing a set of AP racing brake calipers and just waiting for the intake pipe for the Viper
I thought I'd picked up a good deal when I bought this for £1K
If I knew then what I know now......................
I'd do it all again :woohoo:

No worries, I've got it too. My car hasn't arrived yet and I already have a pile of stuff ready to go on,
with more on the way.
Like I tell my wife, it beats spending the weekend in front of the TV watching sports.
Cheers,
Rich
BTW: I think I will follow your lead on the Viper. It sure beats spending 200 quid on the kit!

I used to play linebacker in fully kitted UK league 25 years ago, so my wife is a grid iron convert
It's 3am here in the UK and we're up watching the Packers/Falcons playoff game
As for the Viper wait till I fit mine - having had the engine inspection hatch open today I have a feeling that a 45 elbow to connect to the throttle body may be a better option than the 90 one I bought - watch this space!

Parts arrived lunchtime and removing the filter was a dodle
Unfortunately the resonance box is stopping the intake pipe getting to the nearside vent
We are taking the box out by breaking it up, which is taking forever
