But at least with a rear mounted USB you can drop a flying lead down the back and hide the stick away, on the front you have to take it out every time you leave the car!

I remove the head unit anyway so its not a problem just to leave the stick in the port and drop them both in the boot.

A new one for you - my so called smart phone decided to freeze, normally a simple fix for any peice of electronis is to remove the power source - easy except this smart phone has a battery you can not access!

I could read all the files via a PC link but that was it.

I left it until the battey ran out of charge and "re-booted " it and it's all fine now.

I think I'll revert to the old tin cans and a bit of string..................
