What is this?

Ahh the Metro Pizza Van.

It's an engineering mule to prove the mid engined K series layout for the MGF.

I think I hinted at that calling it the Pizza van ;)

Anyway...

Name the engine and the cars it was fitted to.

Before you can remove the timing belt you need to remove the lower crank pulley..

To do this you need to lock the flywheel, hence the reason for removing the starter motor.

:welcome: to the MG Quiz Mal. Tradition has it (at least it used to be this way) that you now set a new question. It can be anything MG related, just use the site search facility to check if the question you want to ask has been asked before.

If you're stuck, just let me know and I'll set a new question.

Russell uses a battery operated impact wrench :woohoo: and dont need to lock flywheel or gearbox (in gear) :slapme:

Chris, is this derived from the G Series (Galileo) Common rail diesel engine, developed from the L Series engine, that was earmarked by MG Rover for, amongst others, to go in to the MG ZR in 2005/6?

The engine is currently made in India and used in the Indian ICML Rhino and the General Motors Tavera.

Or is it to do with something beginning with W, as Bryan said?

Just in case the G Series engine was the one Chris was after and as I'm going to be busy most of today, here is a question to keep things moving...

The MG link, simple as that.

Good luck hunting.

A very sad day for both MG and Triumph. In July 1979 the British Leyland boss Michael Edwardes and his senior management met at Ye Olde Bull, Hurley, Berkshire to discuss BL's worsening financial situation. At that meeting it was decided to cut the BL workforce by a further 25000 workers. It was decided to close the Triumph Factory at Canley and to cease MG production at Abingdon and with it the end of the MGB.
