Long way to go before you catch up with Mr Bluestreak though!
He is the king of Bling!

Fortunately a lot of bling came with the car so not so far to go to catch up!!

Next job is not so blingy but to replace the rusty parts under the bonnet with nice new pieces and stainless steel bolts.

Cheers Sundance . Sadly I have a more pressing need of a pesky key fob . The Bling might have to wait a bit . Sigh !

I didn't have much time this weekend so after a quick check over of the ZR that hasn't moved since Christmas I thought I'd do the same on the F, I forgot I'd taken the exhaust off..........

I did too, but then I looked online at a rimmer bros exploded diagram a while back and the part numbers were the exact same.

Coupled the TF up to the Pscan to try and sort the key fob problem that has developed while the car has been in hibernation . Managed to obtain the EKA ( Emergency Key Access ) from the BCU that didn't come with the car but, found that either I am doing something wrong or the EKA number isn't right as it didn't release the immobiliser to start the engine . :nonod: Going to try again in the morning . I just wouldn't feel comfortable only having one working fob and no way of getting it started if that fob goes duff . Think Mr Technozen might be the next port of call . :(

Started to renew the hardware under the bonnet. Sanded back to as much bare metal as possible and applied hammerite metal paint that deals with rust that is left.

Also dealt with some rust on some seams and touched up with paint. Wont be noticeable when dry.

Just got the final bonnet mechanism brackets to do another day and wait for stainless hardware to arrive.

did you use a rust remover first, I have done this in the past without rust remover and the rust just came back with a vengeance, just keep your eye on it for a few months,
