It seems that it cannot be folded without unzipping the window.
I was under the impression that it could be done and the manufacturer say it can.
Am I missing a trick

Just tried it with the glass unzipped and found that the glass rests on the Tbar and still won't allow the hood to fold properly as the frame rests on the glass.
I am awaiting a call from BAS which may or may not clarify things.

Hi, tried pushing the glass but it is held securely with the zip. the top of the window litteraly digs into the hood stopping any further lowering.
The lad I bought it off has one fitted to his car and he say it has to be unzipped.
I have tried this and the glass now rests on the Tbar.
It can be forced backwards and down but that raises another problem. the hood folds down on top of the glass but not enough to fit a tonneau cover.
Looks like it is roof up motoring, less hassle.

Hi, It is a BAS panel It fitted very well and zipped up to the hoods zip no problem.
The problem seems to be that the glass is bigger than other screens.
31cm tall . MGF mania screens are smaller than this judging from the pics.

Hello I have showed this to our fitter and it looks like you are going to have to pack out the T bar to angle the window forward slightly, This is a very old window, We have now changed our design to allow for the standard Rover 10 mil tolerances that they allowed when making the cars. we have changed the window design so customers don’t have this problem.
Sorry we can’t be of any more help

Yep - that's why! OEM glass was too big for the hood to fold if the rear hood rail wasn't able to move more. MGF Mania got round this by having more material and less glass. It made very little difference to visibility as the area you look through is lower down any way.
You certainly can fit the larger glass but you need to do a bit of trickery to do it.
