Hi, so if I have it right now from the how to......I need to throw away the rear bar of the frame. then sew the zip back in.
This as I understand it will allow the hood to go down zipped up.As per my original question.
When unzipped the glass rests on the Tbar but a pull backwards lets it go down.
The hood then folds but the glass does not allow it to go fully down as the glass will not lay flat. This must be because there isn't enough material under the window.to allow the bottom of the window to reach the parcel shelf.
As far as I can see nothing can be done to allow it to lay flat.

There seems to be just as much material under the window as the mgfmania hood fitted to our car.

Moved this pic to the same page so you can more easily compare the different shape of the glass.

But a lot less material above the glass, making it longer when flat, hence it hits the t bar.

That's exactly it. Basically the rear bar of the frame can move and allow the extra material to flex enough to allow the hood to lay flat (my orginal hood went perfectly flat). The rear straps inside essentially pull the rear bar back in to place when you put the hood up. It looks complicated but it's fairly easy to do.... the difficult bit was working out what needed doing the first time round!

The only issue I can see is that the glass panel is HUGE! Even bigger than the orginal OEM glass I had... so it can't be 100% guaranteed it will fold completly flat in all honestly.

hi, thanks everybody for your tips and patience with my glass saga. I'll thank you all prsonally.
Forgive me for shouting but I'VE HAD ENOUGH NOW. The glass will not lay anywhere near flat so the hood won't go down enough to allow my hardtop to seat correctly. as I said I've had enough and the hood will never see the light of day again.

Give my how-to method a go...... it must surely let it lay a lot flatter?

No it's too low. it will not lay flat at the rear if the glass was higher it would fold flat at the rear of the parcel shelf.
Here is a link to the sellers window fitted.
It is higher than mine and he says it lays flat.
ebay link
The rivet holes are in the cloth so it can only be fitted in the right place.

No idea, too busy running round in circles. If I feel like another round of masochism then I will have a look in the morning.
