Fuel filling frustrations
A great many moons ago, when unleaded fuel became available here in Oz the powers that be, legislated that all new cars ran on unleaded and to prevent misfueling them with leaded, they had to have a fuel restrictor fitted, even many years after leaded fuel became unavailabe.
I gather that the idiots in charge couldn't understand that it is no longer possible to misfuel with leaded anymore. :nonod:

Went to one particular garage once to refuel in my tf and the nozzle kept clicking off...you know that safety device they have on the nozzles that makes a click at the trigger and shuts off fuel delivery...well the petrol was being delivered that fast it must of been backing up and shutting the nozzle off.....the garage I used this morning for my van....well no chance of fast fuel...I could of read the daily mirror while waiting for £40.00 to appear in the pump window.

The TF used to pee me off when we first got it: fuel pump cut-off kept operating when filling. As many have found, with many pumps the angle of the nozzle is important. No doubt every MG has a different angle of dangle. I now have no probs filling. Apart from the effin price.
Sue seems to have no probs or worries driving around with the needle 8 thou North of empty, I take the more pragmatic view and put fuel in.....

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Just heard back from my friend with a Japan export MGF and there is no restriction in the fuel pipe filler neck.

No he doesn't, but then I don't either and my F has that UK fill nozzle.

Ok then, well, it looks like I've gone full circle & found myself looking up my own arse (not pretty sight at my age). I'll keep you posted, not on the arse front, with other pipework.
