Ive been reading an interesting article on SLIK 50 and many people say it can increase  wear and also the heavier particles can settle on the flor or in the filter Len

I knew a engine builder that hated Slick 50, he found it hard to machine components like crankshafts etc. that had been used with the stuff . Apparently it would build up on the cutting tools.

I've never been a fan of oil additives.
Good quality oil and regular changes have been good to me.
Petrol additives..now that's different.

I've never had faith in oil additives other than The old STP which was simply ionised oil.

There are some very clever buggers formulating the additive packages for the oil companies. And given that we don't know exactly what is in those additive packages, how could we know what or how much to add?

Im retired now, but during my working career in the motor industry I worked alongside Shell, Valvoline and Esso. They will all tell you the same thing, if an additive is needed, its already in there.

Use a quality oil of the correct spec. Oil additives are marketing hype.
