Having had the rear subframe out of my MGF for a strip, clean and rebuild the engine has been reluctant to start from cold but fine when it gets going. This afternoon, having replaced the fuel pump and cleaned tank/filled with clean fuel I got the engine running smoothly once it overcame its reluctance to fire. Note that the oil temp gauge is currently disconnected and I would expect this to have an impact on the engine control unit. However, having turned the engine off and back on again the dash lit up like a Christmas Tree (see attached photo), hazard lights started flashing and a beeping noise was coming from somewhere. Having just purchased a PSCAN I connected this to the car and received a long list of errors (see attached). Can anyone make any sense of this situation and suggest where I should start with my fault finding?

The first thing is to erase the codes and see which ones come back.

Don’t hold any store with your oil something gauge, it’s notoriously vague. It tells you something about the oil but nothing that is constructive, probably that you have oil in the sump & its warmish.
My dad was in the RAF during the last major round of hostilities & amongst other things that pilots were interested in was oil pressure & it’s temperature.
My dad wasn’t a pilot but you aren’t a member of an organisation like that without a bit rubbing off on you, resulting in his fitting oil pressure, temperature, volt & amp meters to all his cars & I have followed his example.
I’ve dispensed with the clock & oil gauge & installed informative instruments in their stead.
Others on here have done similar modifications; I consider these instruments of reassurance & not instruments of foreboding.

I cleared the Pscan errors and am now down to three (see attached image).

P1191 Downstream (post cat) Oxygen Sensor Heater Electrical Fault. I also took a screenshot of the live data for this (see attached image). Is this a sensor failure (heater part of the sensor?) or could it be that I have mixed up the upstream/downstream connections?
P1522 Variable Intake Solenoid #2 Circuit Malfunction - I have only run car at idle and so VVC not tested. Found a post about this fault and it was suggested that it could be the two VVC connectors were around the wrong way - I will check mine but I think they are right.
P0170 Fuel Trim Malfunction (Bank 1) - I have only run at idle and the clean fuel has Redex fuel cleaner/conditioner added.

Make sure that all your earth cables are fitted and properly tightened.

Wondering how the Downstream oxy sensor heat duty cycle is 20% if the heater isnt getting any current? Is this what points you to an earth fault?

No it's you saying that the dash lit up like a christmas tree that made me think that it could be a bad early cable. It's just a guess though.

The dash lighting-up was a red herring and was easily resolved.

Wondering if you can give me any advice as to my specific pscan errors:
P1191 Downstream (post cat) Oxygen Sensor Heater Electrical Fault. I also took a screenshot of the live data for this (see attached image). Is this a sensor failure (heater part of the sensor?) or could it be that I have mixed up the upstream/downstream connections?
