I just checked and Maranello is 291km (3hr 21m) from where we are staying via the A1, so this may take a bit of planning ;)

As an aside, my manager owns an old Lancia and beleives he could get us into the factory/mueum for a visit, which is by apponitment only:

Collezione Vincenzo Lancia
Via Caraglio 84, Torino
Ph: +39 011 00 321 00
Open: by appointment
Belongs to the Lancia Club.

This is 179km (2hr 30m) from where we are staying. It also happens to be 5.8km from here:

Museo dell'Automobile. Carlo Biscaretti di Ruffia Turin
Corso Unita d'Italia 40, Torino
Ph: +39 011 67 76 66. Fax: +39 011 67 71 48
Opens: Tue-Sat 10 -18.30, Sun -20.30
www.museoauto.org

This place has some great reviews on other sites.

Don't want to turn the trip into a museum run but thought it might be worth mentioning as an option.

I have just had confirmation about an hour ago that Apollo and TamZR cannot commit, so I have been looking for a villa/apartment for 4 for you. Have seen a couple, just need to get in touch with the lady who manages them to find out what is best.

It doesn't really matter who stays in what villa as long as I get one of the top floor suites in the first ones I have booked!! :broon: B)

That looks very similar to the place where the Top Gear knobs got stuck.

Take me back a few years when I took my mates TR7 down to Reggio Di Calabria to catch the ferry to Malta. Had to find secure parking along the route and they where all underground just like the one in the pic.

I think at about 90mph you could clear the other side of the street.

At least it would put you on the correct side of the road if you were turning left
