Incidentally the Lake District has a smaller version of this car dump. A place called Hodge Close Quarry just west of Coniston Water..[/quote]
Here is hodge close quarry that David has dived....not for the faint hearted I heard.
And here's one of the cars at the bottom of hodge close..1 careful owner
And here's 2 images that show the hodge close skull...the first image is the rock face and it's reflection...the 2 image is the same picture turned 90 degrees showing the hodge close skull
Image of 1 of the push bikes that met it's doom..I wonder if someone actually rode that bike off the cliff...I know they are daft enough.
The reason I know they are daft enough to jump into the dangerous waters of hodge close is because here is a vid of jumpers at the quarry

It was quite an epic experience even before you got in the water, as you kitted up in the carpark and got into the quarry via a long tunnel opening into a large cavern on the side of the main quarry. Then it was a 'simple matter' of scrambling down a slope of rocks to get to the water!
Imagine that in full scuba gear, air cylinder on back, carrying your fins in one hand!

A more telling question would be : at what age did you buy your MG?
midlife crisis? Thinning hair? etc... hmmmm.....
I got my first MG at 35, 18 years later and still with a full head of blonde hair I've constantly had at least one every since.
And I had several sporty cars over the years since I was 19.
My profile pic was taken 3 years ago.
