A few years back there used to be a local lad driving one of these about...is it the 2b?

I would like one..just need to persuade the Mrs they are economical...and that we need one.

Yes it's a 2b & they are very economic, almost zero emisions, easily serviced & as they will all be over 40years old, both tax & MOT free; a weight lifter would have no problem changing gear & keeping it going in the right general direction, I can't understand why every home in the country doesn't have one.

Love that vid of the 2b motorhome with ac/dc...tnt background music as in my world ac/dc and landrovers are electrifying.

I said that once; however as I write this, sat comfortably in a wood, on a site in Yorkshire I've changed my mind. This is an easy stop over for a few days, summer months away might easily see us wild camped on Unst - - - - - - - or anywhere in the UK.

DAVID WROTE:
Incidentally the Lake District has a smaller version of this car dump. A place called Hodge Close Quarry just west of Coniston Water..:([/quote]
Here is hodge close quarry that David has dived....not for the faint hearted I heard.

And here's one of the cars at the bottom of hodge close..1 careful owner

And here's 2 images that show the hodge close skull...the first image is the rock face and it's reflection...the 2 image is the same picture turned 90 degrees showing the hodge close skull

Image of 1 of the push bikes that met it's doom..I wonder if someone actually rode that bike off the cliff...I know they are daft enough.

The reason I know they are daft enough to jump into the dangerous waters of hodge close is because here is a vid of jumpers at the quarry

I think hodge close quarry deserves the man cave award...check out these folk that get there frills from jumping hodge close on a rope swing...you have got to realize if you were actually there..that takes some guts to get on that rope.

No I couldn't stand close to the edge at hodge close...below more images under the water...vauxhall cavalier anyone?

Some great pics there! Ah happy memories.;)

It was quite an epic experience even before you got in the water, as you kitted up in the carpark and got into the quarry via a long tunnel opening into a large cavern on the side of the main quarry. Then it was a 'simple matter' of scrambling down a slope of rocks to get to the water!

Imagine that in full scuba gear, air cylinder on back, carrying your fins in one hand!

A more telling question would be : at what age did you buy your MG?

midlife crisis? Thinning hair? etc... hmmmm.....

I got my first MG at 35, 18 years later and still with a full head of blonde hair I've constantly had at least one every since.
And I had several sporty cars over the years since I was 19.

My profile pic was taken 3 years ago.
