remote boot popper
I also got a never used spare wheel for £25 too.... and a snorkle and servo brace.... I hate buying new( used) cars as I always end up spending on things that are not really needed lol

What I don't like is the vendor supplies 8mm bolts yet drills10mm holes in the brace. It's going to move!
I've sourced some 10mm tube with 8mm ID so as to make some hollow dowels to make the arrangement more solid. I'll also open out the holes in the snorkel to take some washers so the 8mm bolts can
clamp down without crushing the plastic.
Hopefully!

You can buy different looking items from several sources & find you can open A with D,B or C. This only detracts from their facility if there is a significant security implication; I have a few to operate devices, including my boot lock, however if there is to be anything of value stowed & the vehicle is to be left I can lock it out. In fact I could lock it out by using a second receiver wired into a second channel; a small disable switch to cut the power supply is a much safer bet.

You may understand the full ramifications of your system but Vince, to whom electronics is a mystery & who may be inspired by the job both of us have satisfactorily implemented, he may find those shortcomings a disadvantage.
Applying circuits such as these to older vehicles, to add a function someone is used to on a newer car, is fun but there can be drawbacks.
Were you aware of this aspect of this system before installation?

A newer car is usually some sort of hideous SUV piece of shit painted in a boring monochromatic shade of white, gray or black, filled with stupid touchscreens and other pointless gimmicky FREDs (Fecken Ridiculous Electronic Devices) that the morons that drive them think is technology! It has more body roll than a labrador on a freshly cut lawn, handles like a hippopotamus wearing a tutu on a skateboard and performs like a circus slug! They are ruinously expensive to buy and run, there are newer cars that don't meet this definition ans are desirable but these are even more ruinously expensive to buy and run to the point of being ludicrously and obscenely so!

I find it most practical when Im working on the car more than when I'm just driving it. I no longer have to take the key out of the ignition each time when I want to open the boot to access the rear of the engine bay or to get at the bonnet release. This made a positive difference recently when I was cleaning and adjusting the windscreen washer jets for instance.

Yes that is what anoyes me, Ive just put one of those springs on to lift it too , only set it to open half way as I didnt want full tension on it and was a bit awkward finding a decent place for it to work as usualy they go under the parcel shelf . I`m going to put a rubber sleave overs it and shield the wires to the left which i have alread tucked up closed to the body , incase it snaps , it is made in China after allIve wired my boot release to a button in the rear cubby, not hidden but not hugely obvious.

Having sorted the geometry out I found that the strut was lying over centre, forcing the boot closed when the boot was popped.
The inclusion of a spring such as this, might help reach my initial thoughts.
I like Cobber’s FRED, my car is full of FREDs but there is a history behind each of those.
