Can you explain the β€œtight ass fire”?
A wood burning stove is a true investment if your supply of wood is inexhaustible; it warms you as you cut down, it warms you when you carry it, it warms you when you cut it into β€œstove sized pieces & when you stack it.
And your efforts are rewarded by the heat it gives, when you sit beside the fire, in that golden glow whilst listening to the vinyl hiss of the lead in groove of your favourite record. Wonderful.
Has your Les Paul been refinished?
It’s not a β€˜59 or recent one, it looks in glorious condition, as do all your guitars.

I believe Glyn is refering to taking the easy route to obtaining firewood..but he is from that strange country at one end of the Severn bridge.

The LP is a replica of a 59 made for me in 2011..funny enough by a chap on the other end of the Severn bridge..
The body and neck are from the same plank of Honduras mahogany that came out of a demolished Welsh Civic building dated 1900..so well seasoned!

Not all the above, about warming is true, I’ve just come in from cutting up a beech bough & I’m Effin perished!
The three cottages at the end of our row have just been reroofed & carrying along from the wood theme, I took all the packing cases in which the states came in.
Most of the wood is a mahogany (!!) of surprisingly good quality, I planed a piece, the grain showing nice figuring. A bit of spit brought out the richness, with a single minded effort, a big pot of glue & by avoiding the nail holes, you might make a nice guitar body.

When I said "tight ass fire" I was refering to the fact that there was a very small log/block burning. It was always a joke that the Scots were tight, that's why I was told the only way to get a Scotsman into a bath was to throw a penny in and the way to get him out was to throw the soap in. (Told to me by a Scotsman)

Copper wire was invented by two Scotsmen fighting over a penny!

I seem to remember that our contributor member β€œTA22GT” fitted 280” mm discs to his TF that was fitted with 15” wheels with kits coming from a company near Southport and TT Performance .
What I can’t remember is whether the wheels had to be spaced out by a few mm. I have heard that some style of the 15” wheels had to needed this but others did not.
Those on my car are the 6 spoke and I think like those on TAGT’s car.
Can anyone help with that please?

Your memory is correct Delbourt.
I upgraded to 280mm with the kits you mention.
I did not need to use spacers with my original wheels although I do run 5mm spacers on the rear only.
Upgrading has had real benifits and has been trouble free.

Great, thank you for confirming that. By your reply I presume that neither the front or the rear had any issue (my wheels are the same model as yours).

Interested to know why you fitted spacers at the rear though. From your competitive days experience? Trying to match the bigger tyres on 16” rims?
