Air Intake & Ducting
I have just made a duct for the left-hand side air vent to connect the airbox hose to. Some research has shown me that this will reduce the incoming air temperature significantly, but may also increase the engine bay temperature as no air from the left-hand duct will make it into the engine bay.
I have redesigned the duct, to also allow some air to pass through to the engine bay, however, I just wondered if anybody has ever created a duct to go underneath to direct some of the airflow. I know this is an area fraught with danger, and I don't want to impact the handling characteristics.

I do recall thinking about the trade off between cooling air removal from the engine surrounds and the limited benefit of cold air induction performance. There are safer ways to grab half a horse without risking the non removal of c.800l/minute of warm air from the engine compartment at tickover.

This is a recent addition & hasn’t been assessed dynamically.
Even if there is no advantage, it was a fun project.
I’m away, so no photo.

Not in order, not shown to the best advantage & non of the “boot” inlet.
The top one might be in a low pressure zone, that has been taken into consideration but not implemented.

I bought a 2nd duct from Alec, before he left the forum, to put on my 135. No resonator box on this but the idea is still to replace the original air pickup at the rear of the engine with cold external air. I am supplementing this with a pair of outer scoops which I have bonded onto the original ducts. Having been caught up with other projects since I have only got around to fitting the drivers side, so feed to the engine bay cooling fan, so far. Although the passenger side scoop/ duct/ inner duct/ hose is made up this is still sitting in a drawer waiting for some elusive free time for me to fit it and connect onto the air filter.

I thought about you a short while ago when that delivery clown tried the Broom Way as a short cut!
