Boot mounted reversing camera
Has anyone identified a reversing camera assembly that is a direct replacement fitting size for the number plate light fitting and one that also contains the necessary number plate light?
if so can you please suggest a part number or seller?

I did not play with reversing camera on MG F/TF number plate light, but above is one example. You should measure bolting holes distance and see if will fit.

I find it quite difficult to judge where the corners of the car are when reversing with vision over the folded hood or for that matter through the rear plastic screen being limiting factors. Vision through the hard top is a bit better but still not good for judging where the corners are when reversing and turning at the same time.
So I find it a bit strange that someone hasn’t developed a good neat and proven option for this. I’m loath to start drilling holes in panels only to find out the installation doesn’t work. This is surely one area where technology can work positively for us.

The Pioneer reversing camera works fine ( see my post about Best Radio for MGTF). Yes you have to drill a 5mm hole for the cable plus a couple of 3mm holes for mounting screws but they are in a hidden area above the number plate.

There was never any great clearance in my garage before the influx of some of my son’s equipment; I need to be spot on.
I fitted two cameras & can switch between either, they are fitted in the rear lamp units & are very effective, one you become used to them. They are, after all, viewing from an unusual angle, one which is counter intuitive.

Airportable, (#223184) that is a very interesting solution. Based on replies you have given to other topics I get the impression that you are somewhat of an expert in electronics or competent to say the least.
So can you please indicate what sort of arrangement you included to facilitate the switching from one lens to the other, and it might also be interesting to know what size screen you are using to view the video on (is it for example your phone, the car’s radio with a large pull out screen, or part of the rear view mirror system?).

From tiny acorns!
I had been asked to build a “cat flap monitor” to ensure my friend was feeding his own cat & not being burgled, nightly, by the neighbourhood moggy & I had some oddments left over in the workshop.
A person or persons, unknown kindly smashed my wing mirror off the car, sending it a good way towards Yorkshire. I thus jury rigged a 5” mini monitor to the inside of the car & a miniature camera on a bent up bracket outside, until I could order a replacement.
I had tested the basic system in the workshop & noted it on here, to which our dear friend Cobber made some pithy remarks.
I have complicated my system unnecessarily, but that need not be done for successful results.
As can be seen from the pictures there are a o/s system & a n/s as “door mirrors” which can be switch front to rear or a left / right transposition.
Because the video cameras are all composite out & have a healthy signal, at a low impedance (75r), switching can be done using reasonable quality miniature relays.
I have a single momentary switch which, once pushed, cycles through the steps to view on the o/s monitor the camera most suited to my requirements.
Switching is performed adjacent to the camera to minimise the cable runs, plus it was an easier option to hide those twiddly bits behind the rear lamp covers, for the rears & in the door void for the front.
A few pictures might help.

Not quite the same but there was alway a transi parked on the corner of my old street when I had my Jag and pulling out was a nightmare,
So I fitted a camera in my front bumper reflector, so I didnt have to stick 5 foot of bonnet out before I could see lol

Anyone tried the commercially available bespoke mirrors that show rear view camera footage, and then appears to be capable of being turned off to reveal a standard mirror?
