She is a pretty cat too hun.. Give her a tickle from me.. I was looking at toys for her today too lol.. Will get her a little something for christmas
Aww have given her plenty of tickles today & one from you to! I'm sure she'd love a little prezzie! She has some balls but no other toys yet.
Today was an interesting day... after sleeping on me/wondering around the flat last night as soon as daylight came up she went & hid under the chest of drawers again and has been under there all day! :frown: She doesn't seem distressed & she loves being tickled under there (purrs, rolls around) but she just hasn't come out at all. Should I be worried & how long should I let her stay under there?

Nope not yet!

the little so and so nearly scared me to death last night by climbing on to the over bed cupboard and jumping on to the bed where we were sleeping :yikes:
Aww bless you're right they're quite similar.
I didn't actually sleep a wink last night as was worried about crushing her or her thinking it was a sign of rejection if I moved & knocked her off the bed... hence I'm bloody shattered! But I was just too nervous to sleep.

Sookie is a good name - my Grandad had a grey cat called Sookie mnay years ago:thumbsup:
That's so cool I wonder where he got the name from. :CJJ:

Thanks Jan!
I'm just worried about how long I should let her stay under there. I've seen small improvements today... she's less jumpy about certain noises e.g. this morning whenever we opened a door she pushed herself as far back under the chest of drawers as she could go but by this evening she doesn't do that anymore. Still I'm just concerned how long she will be under there without eating or drinking (still no interest).

cats stress very easily and show it in different ways, for instance I am still bleeding from various vicious clawings from ozzy but he will follow up with lots of affection he is stuck somewhere between contentment and panic. it can take months for them to fully relax, they will have little bolt holes or safe areas where they will feel more secure, best to leave them alone when they go there and give them some alone time, they will come out when ready. leave some water and food for her and go out for a few hours so she can explore the flat without you there and get some food & drink without feeling threatened.
They can do without food for some time but will start dehydrating if they dont drink I would say if she isnt drinking by monday take her to a vet who may drip feed her to rehydrate her, its a good idea to register with a vet anyway and get some insurance (please please please get some insurance) I'm sure you will have many happy years with sookie, our last 2 cats lasted 16-17 years

Aww thanks George - it's so nice that even on an MG forum we can talk & get advice about our beloved pets! :grouphug:
It's quite funny actually - as I was writing my last post yesterday evening complaining how she'd been in all day it turns out she'd been wondering around exploring! We went to bed & I went to say goodnight & she just wasn't there! :yikes: But we found her sitting on Frank's shoes in his wardrobe!
Last night saw incredible progress... when we found her in the wardrobe she came out and explored the whole of the second bedroom (or "Sookie's room"!!!), then she came & slept with us for a bit, then she explored the hallway, came back & slept, then explored the bathroom, & came back again. We keep the living room door closed at night & when we opened it this morning she stuck her head in but I think she's decided that's enough for one night as she's back in the wardrobe again! So really massive progress in terms of exploration! Yesterday as soon as it was light she went & hid but today she wondered about til around 10am!
And the best news... she's found the litter tray & used it AND she's eaten some wet food & cat biscuits!!! :woohoo: I am soooo relieved! Even if she hides again all day today I won't worry because she's done so well! Well done Sookie! :hurray:

Aww your poor cat!
I'm just glad Sookie's not a kitten... can't really see playtime with the lizards going down too well! :yikes:

Thanks so much for your help mate. :grouphug:
Just checked in on her... she's moved from sitting on Frank's shoes to sitting curled up in his sock draw... seems to have a fetish with anything that's touched Frank's feet. :err:

Ahh it's ok.. I've told him (the cat) that he could do with livening up a bit more else I'd get him a younger playmate to have fun with - but he just looked at me, yawned and wandered off :rolleyes2: :hehe:
I do love him to bits really, but miss the fun kitten stage a little.

Don't forget to give your cat a regular shampoo.
They love it!
:yikes: Bloody hell! That doesn't even look like a cat anymore! I actually got Sookie some of this stuff: http://www.petplanet.co.uk/product.asp?dept_id=90&pf_id=0680&co=fr ...so thankfully no wet baths for her.
And speaking of cat photos... managed to get a couple more photos today!
I'm so happy she found my £150 faux fur coat to sleep on :shake: :
Woohoo! Out & about in daylight:
Ooh what's that over there...
No surely it can't be...
It is! Woohoo I've found another wardrobe mummy!
Now I know I look rough as hell in the next pic having had a combined total of about 4 hours sleep in the last 48 hours but I just had to post this pic...
...she's just come and sat on my lap! How cute is that!!!
