MG T-Bar Quiz
This car reached less than half the estimate and sold for £78,000.
For the full story behind Leonidas, pictured below, see this link
There is an October link as in October 1935 MG sold the three MGs with American Miles Collier becoming the first private owner of PA-1667, which after an accident with a New York taxi was rebuilt as shown in the photo above.

In 1935 MG decided to launch a three-car entry for Le Mans, and as they still had unsold MG PAs they decided to convert them to full race specification. The cars were sent back to the factory where an exhaustive list of modifications was carried out.
As a publicity exercise, MG chose six of the leading female racing drivers of the day and hired them to drive the cars under the direction of Captain George Eyston.
The results for the 'all-girl' team were a sensation. The three cars finished first, second and third within the works entry in their class.
In later years one of the winning cars was scrapped by the factory and another suffered an accident after which it was rebodied with a streamlined nose and returned to racing in the late 1930s. That car - known as 'Leonidas' is part of the Collier collection in Naples, Florida.
The car now offered for sale by RM Auctions of London is the only unmodified original survivor of the three works cars.
Following Le Mans, the car was returned to the factory and upgraded with a supercharger, after which it became one of 'The Musketeers', the factory trials team.
It raced several times in the pre-war years but after the war was acquired by Frederick Royston, owner of Royston Motors, the US importer for many British cars including MG.
The MG was bought by its current vendor in 1989 and has been - says RM - carefully and comprehensively restored, being in 'excellent condition mechanically and cosmetically'.
It is expected to fetch up to around £160,000 when it goes under the hammer at Battersea Park on October 27
I now retire from the quiz until Adam or Ben get above me

:bang: So not only do we have to find the MG link, we now have to decipher the actual question. :bust: SS you're a one off, thankfully.
Just to clarify, the car Leonidas was not the car auctioned by RM in October 2010.
Martin time for you to inject a little sanity back into the quiz.

By what name are the annual MG meets known as in South Africa that attract overseas visitors as well as numerous MG owning locals?
For extra credit, from what language does this word originate and what does it mean?

From Wikipedia: "An indaba is an important conference held by the izinDuna (principal men) of the Zulu and Xhosa peoples of South Africa. (Such meetings are also practiced by the Swazi, who refer to them using the close cognate indzaba.) These indabas may include only the izinDuna of a particular community or may be held with representatives of other communities.
The term comes from a Zulu language word, meaning "business" or "matter"."

Earlier I set a question about the California Cup. Can you tell me:
1) the name of the MGCC Centre which donated the Cali Cup, and which other trophy have they donated to an international Centre?
2) For what is the second trophy contested?
and a bonus point if you can tell me when the trophy was donated and who did the hand-over.

I reckon it is more likely that it will have been donated by one of the MG Clubs from California affiliated with the MGCC.
That narrows it down to just a few;
MGCC Long Beach
MG Owners Club of Northern California
Vintage MG Club of South California
or
MGCC San Diego
As just two of them has the word California in their title I will plump for one of those and I'll have a guess at the MG Owners Club of Northern California as the MGCC Centre that donated the trophy.
I am amazed that it is so difficult to find info on the origins of this MG Live regular event.
