Ready for the next question? ;)

It's not a secret that Rover's ingenious VVC design for the K-Series was developed from a lapsed patent held by piston manufacturer AE. VVC was first introduced with the MGF but Rover's Variable Valve Timing program actually began way back in the late 1980s.

The question is - what was the development/in-house name for Rover's VVC project?

It was. It also had Steve Soper driving.

Poor Ian Ogilvy doesn't sound very convinced with the lines he was given  which was sort ok because it matched the insincerity of Steve Soper's replies :bust:

If you need a bit of help with RB's new question.....

To be fair, once they tightened up the front suspension to eliminate the torque steer, the Monty Turbo was a bloody good car. The O Turbo was almost bullet proof, and the fact it used an SU carb meant reliability was good, and at 150 BHP it was well within the limits of the PG1 gearbox. Particularly as the early ones used the Honda built variant that was stronger anyway.

The biggest issue was those bloody stupid Metric wheels and the TDX tyres. They were grippy enough, but at over £100 per boot in 1984 they were ridiculously expensive.

Ah of course... VVC codename = Very Very Complicated ;) Should've remembered from Dr Dave's rebuild thread on .org

Not quite cjmillsnun! You're thinking of the nickname, but think more along the lines of the codename. The F was Project Phoenix for instance.

and have to agree with you, they are before my time but the Maestro & Montego were great looking cars. A T16'd Maestro would go straight into my dream garage ;)

Found it....

Project "Hawk"

And BTW Paul... I've found an error. The TF was launched on the 15 January 2002, not 5 January 2002 as in your post...

OK This is an easy one.

After Abingdon closed, MGs have been produced at three separate sites.

Name all three.
