I work from home as a Data Analyst for a large out of hours healthcare provider - and then (for my sins) work as an Administrator for 2 of my local retained fire stations (as well as the much needed extra cash it brings in, it's my 'get me out the house and keep me relatively sane' time!

The tiny bee sting aerials normally harm reception on a modern MG, in my general experience.

The best reception I've found is with the original aerial, pity it looks crap. I got the Mike Satur one and it seems to be the best of both worlds.

A good test is to put the radio on a weak station, then get someone to stand outside the car holding the aerial. If the reception improves, you need a better aerial.
