Unashamed thumbs up for Bruce TF135 low water alarm kit.

I fitted this kit today and it is superbly thought out. I know there are others on the market but I can only comment on this one.

I already had the engine cover off from yesterday and following the instructions along with the photo's it took about 30 mins up to fitting the sensor on to the expansion tank. I couldn't find my araldite that I had put in a safe space so I used tape for now. Seriously sticky stuff that withstands heat.
The instructions are so clear, the photo's identify where to get a Live feed and an earth and when connecting those up to the sensor and the buzzer the connections all have the right terminal and colour that it's almost impossible to get it wrong.
Turning on the ignition gave a quick bleep to tell me it was working. I had tested that the sensor worked before I stuck it to the tank.
I gave it a good test around twisty roads and a few hard stops on the brakes and am glad to report there were no false alarms.

I do feel I have peace of mind even though when I drive I am always watching the gauges. It's backup if a hose splits and I can try and deal with it before disaster occurs.

When I took the engine cover off the 3 bolts under the T Bar were missing. When I put it back I noticed without them there was quite an air gap at the front. Replacing those bolts has made the cabin so much quieter.

Highly recommend Bruce's kit.

I’ll be the first to agree with you

I fitted one to a Rover 100 without any difficulties, modifying the buzzer element to suit, with Bruce’s blessing.

I’ll second your approval and appreciation. I received my kit on Friday down in Australia and fitted it yesterday in under an hour. Works as it should and as described, super easy to install, and a necessity with the Australian summer temps.

Thank you!
As you know it's not just a cheap bag of wires with flaky instructions. It is very well put together..and it works

Hey Bruce, you really don’t need to do any advertising, just let the lads do the promotions for you & success is a fore gone conclusions.
Asda are looking for a chief executive, with your track record in sales, the road may be wide & straight for you to walk right in.

Thanks for all of the generous comments.

As it happens, I picked up the original idea from a post here on The T Bar.  The original poster was never interested in pursuing the idea but I made myself a prototype before refining the alarm into a saleable item.  I tested the market with help from 10 members of this very forum who provided some enormously useful feedback before I started selling them on eBay back in 2019.

It was never my intention to make a load of money.  I never expected to sell more than a few!   It was started more as a hobby and to help out fellow owners of MGF and TF cars.  I still make them on my dining room table when I have some free time!

They have found their way to every corner of the UK and Europe.  There are quite a few Down Under and even some in the USA and, of all places, Russia!

There have been numerous refinements over the years.  Fortunately, they have been very reliable, as I dread the prospect of needing to provide more than the very occasional support I have needed to provide so far.

As for ASDA, if I were to make them any money, I'd need to double the price at least

Thank you to everyone here who has bought one or recommended them to others :-)

Have you thought of selling them through Mgfntfbitz or Mike Satur. A coolant alarm is conspicuously absent from their sites
