Engine Bay Fan Check

Hello
Last year I fitted a new engine bay fan because the old one looked like it was about to fall apart with corrosion.
After that, it was very common to notice the fan cut in and out when driving around town - Summer or Winter.
But now, I never hear the fan start.
Can I check its functionality using PSCAN?

Surely you can check it by disconnecting it from the sensor situated above and forward of the expansion tank, when disconnected it should run.

The mk2 F still has the temp sensor north of the expansion tank. I believe the first TFs, with the square lucas fob, also retained that sensor.

I can confirm that Early, Lucas FOB TFs also have this switch where you show it, and it does cause the engine-bay fan to come on once disconnected.  At least, it does on my 2002 TF.
