Look at the oil filter housing..

Are there two threaded connectors facing the floor?

The TF160 has connections for the oil cooler..

That is not a 160 engine it has no hydraulic contrul unit for the variable valve timing and ok these are often removed but there would be a blanking plate as pictured on Allans engine.
Definetly got the mems 3 manifold i suspect a 135 Engine with the alloy manifold you will only really know off the cam numbers if they are 135 cams.

One of my 160 engines below as with the 145 they all have hydraulic control units in OE form.

Worth mentioning if buying a k series 160 that as been fitted in any zr and intend on fitting in a tf mgf that will also have no oil cooler.
Also that mgf looks like a mark one which will have mems 2 set up so worth contemplating if fitting that mems 3 wired engine the mems 3 engine loom will not directly plug into a mems 2 oe shell loom.

Lots of good advice here. Perhaps a Mod could put these into a separate new thread on Engine differences to make it easy to find the info in future?

:pop: just a thought (yes I have always been a pain in the ..)

Yes, I'm afraid that is a mems3 mpi engine, not a 160 vvc. It has the alloy inlet manifold so is either a 135mpi or even a 120mpi with the plastic manifold replaced by alloy. ( as I notice the metal manifold brace is not in place, suggesting that the alloy manifold has been retro fitted.) :nonod:

I would be straight back onto the supplier for a refund.

Give aways are no belt and cover on the opposite side to the cam belt. No VVC mechanism on the head.

I would take the rocker cover off for the sake of undoing some 8mm bolts.the cams will have LGC000300 On inlet and exhaust. FMCA6 FMCA4,if they are 135 cams.
The inlet manifold strut support may have been sold by the seller i get a lot of enquiries after these.
However the thread for bolt is there on all k series bottom ends the bolt you require for bottom of brace is a M10 x 50 13mm socket.
the top is a M8 x 16

Quintin, David is correct.

Are you happy to have the 120 / 135 engine? If not then you want a refund, if you are happy with it then at the very least you want to get back a proportion of the money you paid for the 160 engine.
