mrsoldier wrote: Hey Guys,
He just checked the numbers on the engine and its an 160 ,
It got the right cams with the numbers on it ,
Like on this picture .....
.....
When i get my car back i will check ,
I think i need to find a company that can dyno my car so we are sure :)!

Quintin, why don't you ask him to give you the engine number. If you post it on here we can tell you more about the engine. What you have said about this engine so far does not add up. :nonod:

The cam numbers in question are not shown in the photo you posted.

Everyone here is genuinely only trying to help you to avoid paying for something that is not what you are being told it is. You put a lot of trust in this man, but the people posting in this thread (self excluded) are experts with many years of experience on these cars and know exactly what they are talking about.

Testing your car after you have paid for it is going to tell you the power output. If it is not 160 will he be refunding you?

Quintin, a lot of our members are experts and purists of the marques. They are just trying to prevent you being upset or possibly ripped off. I don't think that those titles would apply to you my friend. Your car is a truly beautiful example and you should be proud of the mods you have had done so far. As long as your car is turning heads, the roof comes down and it drives ok, you should be happy for that.

Whatever the engine turns out to be, just enjoy it for the MG that it is. It will still be fast enough to take a nice lady in for a ride. :yesnod:

Just realise that, when you come to sell it, it might not be the goose that lays the golden egg after all. Maybe just a silver one. Enjoy it. :broon:

Let us know what you get on the rolling road results please. Even if only for interest in finding out what you've got under the hood. :hugs:

Quintin personally i think your mgf looks cosmetically quite tasteful, nice job.
The most recent pictures you posted 145 and 160 are valves.

The link below should help you understand the location of the cams .This link is a vvc head.

In the words of Duncan...... 'Am Oort.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

The 'real deal' ?

As in the VVC160 engine and Mems 3 ECU ?

As in 'yes the engine pictured is a 120 or 135 MPi engine after all'?

:-?
