So I finally did it and bought an early MGF in British Racing Green, it’s been off the road for a while so will need a good service, the roof is stiff to put up and down, and it generally needs a good clean polish.

my only initial concern it two spots of rust on the A Post which I think will be a windscreen out job to treat it all.

i am in the East Midlands, in Derby, I will be asking lots of questions.

Hello and Welcome!
You've come to the right place to ask questions about your car.
Post some pics of the car and show the rust spots if you can.

Welcome to the T-Bar - there are lots of clever folk on here, who can answer just about anything about these lovely little cars.

I'm in Matlock, if you fancy meeting up for a coffee when you've got the car sorted and on the road.

A mythical architect & inventor has joined us, I do hope your son, if you have one, keeps well clear of the sun.
It’s always good to have another early f within the fold.
Cobber’s check list is a great piece of homework for you to study & the only daft question is the one you didn’t ask.

Welcome. Always especially good to hear from someone who is rescuing one that has been off the road for a while. The value of tidy ones has finally started to increase so any improvements you make to it should be worthwhile in every sense.

Welcome along,
I've been here for just a year, as someone familiar with older cars I need help regularly and find everyone most helpful.
As a new TF owner I find the car one of the most enjoyable I have owned, to the point where I am looking for excuses to get it fired up in this glorious weather,
Regards Richard.

As for my other hobbies, I am keen on 3d printing, I seem to have a passion for making star wars props, here is my finished pit droid, he is called Nigel.

I have a fully printed K2, awaiting paint, called Colin.

this is a replica (ish) Hunter helmet from Bad Batch

and lastly a grenade from Rogue one powered by an Arduino

They are absolutely brilliant. You certainly have some remarkable design and fabrication skill. I often wish I was capable of something creative like that
