So far......So meh!
No improvement on the eyesight front........so not looking good on the chances of driving again,  but I have much less neck pain than I've had in a long time, turns out the neck pain I've been having was to do with the coming attraction stroke, I'd been complaining to the quacks about it for some time and they'd done a shit load of diagnostics, but clearly didn't read the results properly. As they'd done one of the same diagnostics again and found it.........after the bloody damage had been done!
The moral of my story is.......... don't let them fob you off, when you try to explain what is ailing you, with that condescending smile and the far away look in their eyes like that of a dog having a shit!

Turns out, medical and automotive diagnostics have a lot it common..........there is little point unless the person reading the results has a bloody clue on interpreting the results!
At least with the automotive diagnostics you can post them here to get a interpretation from those that understand them, It's a pity The-T-Bar doesn't have a panel of knowledgeable medical practitioners to help to explain diagnostic results!

And to make matters worse, my poor old budgie, Wing Commander Biggles looks like he is on his last legs!

I wonder what Wing Commander Bigglesworth, Algy’ Ginger & Smyth would say about the present world, seen through their flying goggles?
I doubt you would get books like Biggles published these days.
You can’t go around calling people “The Bosch”, unless they make domestic appliances etc.
Sorry to hear about your budgie, surely you could leave the window open for a replacement to fly in ?

Damn Right to that Cob.  My wife collapsed whilst trying to lift a small child.  Ambulance chaps suggested pulled muscles.  So started a few months with her in agony as the quacks just went along with the paramedics.   I was jumping around whining about lumps in her back that had not been there before.  EVENTUAL X Ray showed 2 collapsed vertibrea!.

Biggles has made a bit of a recovery and is much better, his wingman Ft Lt Algernon has resumed he's constant annoyance of him, so it's not just me being optimistic!

Alas the part of Oz we live in doesn't have native budgies, A bit too cold for them, we do however have their nearest genetic relative, the rainbow lorrikeet, they often have yelling matches with the rellos outside!
Obviously they understand one another, probably each thinks the other has a silly accent!

Excellent, an old pal inherited a second hand budgie, in good used condition, from his retired & subsequently expired merchant seaman, grand father. It said very little until his mother came to visit, where upon it open up it sea chest of expletives & proceeded to give them a broadside.
They both agreed that it had the late mariner’s accent.
Who’s a pretty boy then?
It’s good to hear from you.

Cobber!
I have only just looked at The T Bar after a Cruise (S. Atlantic & Antartica) keeping me away from the internet for over 3 weeks.

REALLY sad to hear your first news, but slightly heartened by more recent posts.

As many others have said more eloquently than me: Every one of your posts has been a treasure, so please keep posting as long as you feel able.

Best wishes for your ongoing recovery and/or the hard process of coming to terms with your new situation. If you ever get the chance to visit the U.K. and can stand the thought of our weather and warm beer, I am certain that you would be treated as Royalty by any of the many members of the T bar who (like me) owe you a dept for wise advice and LOL humour!

Well as of yesterday a slight improvement in my angle of vision, very slight but I'm still able to  measure it. Not enough to be able to jump in the car and go for a fang though!

Going for a fang or fanging it, is OZ slang, it means driving in the manner of the great Juan Manuel Fangio.......ie, fast!

And my old mate Biggles is doing much better, and looking pretty happy with himself, he and his wingman Algy have resumed precision formation flying around the house!

Great news Cobber!
If anyone has the grit and willpower to get thru this it's you mate.
What you don't do with a stroke is give in to it..you kick the hell out of it and you are the man for that.
Keep fighting..keep dropping in it's great to hear from you.
